After the Sichuen earthquake, 4 board members of HIS
Foundation went to the disaster areas to provide medical
services. HIS Foundation also arranged a donation of 4,400
wheelchairs for victims of earthquake. The total cost of
wheelchair was about US$200,000. This was made possible
through the donation of several organizations including
Herald Foundation, Chinese Evangelical Free Church, Chinese
Bible Mission Church of Los Angeles and individual donors.
HIS Foundation is currently discussing with other relief
organization on setting up a rehabilitation center in
Sichuen to provide services for the amputees. This project
will need supports from rehabilitation physicians,
orthopaedic surgeons, physical therapists, and prosthetists.
Purchase of equipments and prosthesis are also needed. If
your specialty is in these areas and are interested to help,
please let us know. If you want to provide financial
support, please send your tax-deductible donation to us and
put down ‘Sichuen earthquake’ on the memo section of the
check.
Please continue to pray for the earthquake victims since the
path for recovery is lengthy and difficult.
