June and July are very hot in Henan Province, China. However it is a busy month for our wheelchair team and education team. In each of the months, a wheelchair team was sent to Henan to assemble and distributed 520 and 550 wheelchairs respectively.
A 14-member wheelchair team formed by volunteers from Australia and the
United States just returned from Henan Province, China. They assembled and distributed 550
wheelchairs in four different locations. The wheelchairs donated gave many home bound patients
opportunities to get out of the house. They are now able to enjoy getting connected with their friends
and neighbors again.

In July a Youth Camp was held for 65 students who are recipients of the HIS Foundation High School Scholarship. Many students found it very interesting because this was the first time they participated in similar activities. They learnt many extracurricular skills and knowledge that could be useful for their future development. (Activity photos can be seen in attached color page)
September will be another busy month. We will send three surgery teams. Two teams will go to Henan
Province, China and one team will serve in Madagascar, Africa. A wheelchair team will return to Henan to
assemble and distribute wheelchairs.

orthopedic services
