Dear Friends of HIS Foundation,
I just finished a follow-up trip at Bohol, Philippines. It is exciting to find that all the postoperative children are recovering well. Most of the patients come from poor remote areas or islands. The medical facilities in these areas are not well developed. Thus, many children do not receive necessary treatment. We have set up agreement with the provincial hospital. We shall send another orthopedic team to serve from March 16 to 28 in 2025. If you are interested to join, please email to HISFound@aol.com.
On the other hand, our plastic surgery team is busy preparing for another mission to Kurdistan in July. They will perform surgeries for patients with harelips and cleft palates. The weather in Kurdistan will be very dry and hot. The temperature frequently rises to 106 °F (41 °C) or above. Please pray for our team members. May God grant them good health so that they can adapt to the local weather and cope with the busy schedule.
Our SuperAdobe building team just finished building a 3-room house for a refugee family. The main building material is local soil. Compare with the tents in the refugee camp, the SuperAdobe house provides much better temperature control. It is also resistant to strong wind, rain, and fire. The annual thanksgiving dinner will be held on November 3, Sunday at 6 pm. The venue is Quiet Cannon, in Montebello, CA. Admission is free. Please mark your calendar and reserve a time to come to enjoy the gathering and witness the greatness of our Lord.
