HIS Foundation has been sending surgery teams to different parts of the world in the past 30 years to provide services to the indigent patients.  Countries that we have served included China, Vietnam, Indonesia, Madagascar, Kurdistan (Northern Iraq), and the Philippines.

Surgery Services:

According to the WHO report, an estimated 1.3 billion people experience significant disability.  This represents 16% of the world’s population, or 1 in 6 of us.  The orthopedic and plastic surgery teams of HIS Foundation provide free quality care for many with disabilities.  This is also a way to show God’s love by providing good Christian services.

Our surgery teams typically partner with the local government and local NGO.  We recruit Christian medical professionals worldwide to join the teams.  The areas we have most volunteers joining included the United States, Hong Kong, and Australia.

Our operation mode is short-term repeated medical missions.  Each team goes to the service country for 1 to 3 weeks to render the care which include surgeries and rehabilitation after surgeries.  The teams, however, will return repeatedly to the same location to follow-up the postoperative patients and serve new patients.  Since the team return to the same location for several years, we can provide mid to long term follow-up of our patients.  In China, some of our patients are follow-up for over 20 years.
