Dear Friends of HIS Foundation,
A 12-member orthopedic team recently returned from Phnom Penh, Cambodia. They served at Hebron Medical Center, a mission hospital founded by Korean missionaries in 2007. Initially, it was only a clinic, but it gradually developed into a multi-specialty medical center. It has a nursing school and provides family medicine training. Each year, six new family doctors graduate from the program.
The medical team's primary task is to become familiar with local conditions in preparation for future medical missions. The results have been fruitful. The team established strong liaisons with the hospital, the local medical staff, and other medical organizations. We decided that, starting next year, we will regularly send orthopedic teams to provide free services.
Due to ongoing conflicts in the Middle East, the orthopedic team's scheduled trip to Kurdistan has been canceled. The next scheduled medical team is the plastic surgery team in November. Whether it can go remains uncertain, depending on developments in the war in Iran.
This year's Annual Thanksgiving Dinner will be held on November 8 at Quiet Cannon in Montebello.
Please reserve the date to join us.
Thank you and God bless you.
Sincerely,
James Lau, M.D.
Board Chairman
